The festival
Woodford Folk Festival is Australia's largest folk festival, held each year at the Woodfordia site north of Brisbane. It runs for six days over the new-year period — the 2025/26 festival is programmed from 27 December 2025 to 1 January 2026 — with a sprawling program of music, arts, talks, and ideas.

The scale is the defining challenge. The 2025/26 program in the Moment app holds 2,124 events and 455 artists across the festival's many stages and spaces. At that size, a printed program is unwieldy and out of date the moment it's printed — patrons need to search, filter, and plan on their phones.

Over a six-day festival, the app becomes the daily companion — patrons come back to it repeatedly to re-plan around a program that changes hour to hour.
How patrons used it
At the 2024/25 festival, the Moment app for Woodford Folk Festival saw:
- 12,731 unique users (devices)
- 277,051 deep-link opens — patrons jumping straight to, and sharing, specific events, artists, and stages
That's an average of roughly 22 deep-link opens per user across the festival — a sign that patrons weren't just glancing at the app once, but living in it: planning their days, revisiting highlights, and sharing what's on with the people they came with.
