Peak Festival
Perisher, NSW
A four-day, eight-stage music festival in the Perisher alpine village. With venues spread across a ski resort, the map is the feature patrons use most.
The festival
Peak Festival is a free, four-day music festival held each June in the Perisher alpine village, in the Snowy Mountains of New South Wales. The 2025 festival ran from 6 to 9 June across eight stages spread through the village, with 22 artists performing 86 events. The 2026 festival is confirmed for the same weekend and is again running on Moment.

The distinguishing feature of Peak isn't its scale — it's its geography. The festival's eight stages are distributed across the Perisher village, often inside lodges and venues that are a short walk apart through snow. Patrons need to know what's on, where it is, and how to get to it — quickly, often in cold conditions, and frequently while making real-time decisions about which act to catch next.
Why Moment
The festival's program director, David De Santi, runs multiple multi-stage music festivals across the east coast of Australia. Peak is the one where Moment's map matters most:
The live map is the standout feature
With eight stages spread across an alpine village, the map is what patrons return to repeatedly. They can see what's on, where, and how to get to it.
Custom map image for the village
Rather than a generic street map, the Moment app for Peak Festival uses a custom map image of the Perisher village showing each of the eight stages in context. This matches how patrons actually navigate the festival on foot.
Multi-festival management
David manages multiple festivals on Moment from a single backend login. The same builder that runs Peak also runs Maleny Music Festival and others — no learning a new tool for each event.
How patrons used it
Across the 21-day window around the 2025 festival, the Moment app for Peak Festival saw:
- 938 unique users (devices)
- 2,221 total sessions
- 1,784 deep-link opens — patrons sharing or jumping straight to specific acts, stages, and times
- Peak day: 129 active users on Saturday 7 June 2025
Daily active users went from ~38/day in the lead-up to 88/day during the festival — a ~2.3× lift, driven by patrons actually using the app on-site as they moved between stages.
To put this in context: with 22 artists and 938 unique users, that's roughly 42 patrons engaging with the app for every artist on the bill — a strong per-artist engagement ratio for a free festival of this size.
I program multi-stage music festivals up and down the east coast — Peak Festival, Maleny Music Festival and Folk by the Sea. Moment's map is the standout feature for me, especially at Peak, where we have eight stages spread across Perisher Village. Patrons can see what's on, where it's happening and how to get there. The back end works well, and Kris is on the phone whenever I need him. It's the festival app I now use across all my events.
